THIS POSITION IS A SUB STATUS (20 HOURS OR LESS) POSITION TO WORK AS A TICKET MACHINE OPERATOR IN OUR ERIE COUNTY BRANCHES

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Under supervision with little latitude for independent or unreviewed action, responsible for the selling and cashing of wagers in a branch office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accepts and accounts for wagers received in specified horse racing events and New York State Lottery instant and online games.

2. Cashes winning tickets, examining for authenticity.

3. Assists in performing miscellaneous routine tasks such as branch housekeeping, preparing morning lines, etc.

4. Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Must have the ability to handle money, deal effectively with fellow employees and establish a favorable rapport with customers.

ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Must satisfactorily complete a four-day training course, and 120-day probationary period.
